Abstract： Distribution of rare earth ion and effect of rare earth on catalytic performance of a FCC catalyst prepared from kaolin were investigated by 129 Xe NMR technique, MAT and small-scale fluid bed reactor tests. The results of 129 Xe NMR showed that rare earth ions were located at different positions in zeolite when the content of rare earth was not too high.
